The costume accurately replicates that worn by adults to sing, dance, and do the haka, without the expense of the intricate handwoven bands and flax piupiu.

The set includes an adjustable headband, adjustable woven waist band (tatua), and the mock piupiu skirt, which is cotton knit strips on an adjustable black elastic band. (The black shorts worn underneath are not included).
